Rev. Dr. Robert Muter (August 13, 1771 - May 4, 1842)
Born in Stonehouse, Lanarkshire, Muter was ordained on August 14, 1800, and was the popular minister of the United Associate Congregation on Duke Street.

He has a stately monument dedicated to him designed and built in 1844 by John Stephen.

He was raised in the Church of Scotland, but joined the Secession in 1794 of the Associate Congregation Presbyteruan Church.
